Dispensing the Love of Christ
“Freely you have received; freely give.”
With these words, Jesus sends out his disciples to those that are lost, broken, sick, and oppressed by the evil foe. After all, Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. The disciples’ free reception of God’s grace and gifts serves as their motivation to willingly share it with others. This mission would soon be expanded beyond the ‘lost sheep of Israel’ to include all nations, all people, all neighbors.
Julie Maduforo, our clinical coordinator, also provides vital counseling services for our patients.
Following a recent appointment, one of our patients appeared at the check-out desk inquiring how much he owed for his medical care. When told that there was no charge for his care, his eyes teared up as he expressed profound thankfulness. He then opened his wallet and deposited a few dollars in our donation box to help the next patient.
This is the animating feature underneath all we do. We have all freely received God’s grace and gifts; in response we now simply love and serve the neighbor God places in front of us.
We recently had the privilege of coming alongside a frightened young woman experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. After taking the first pill of a two-pill abortion process, this young woman had an overwhelming sense that she had made the wrong decision. Desperate to save her baby’s life, she contacted Katallasso.
Within 24 hours, she met with our volunteer Women’s Health provider to begin the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) procedure. During this process, it was discovered that this young woman was carrying twins, and it was also determined that the pregnancy was still viable. The deadly effects of the abortion pill had been reversed and the works of the devil halted. A few short months later, two healthy baby boys were born! Praise God.
Each day the love of Jesus is dispensed to those patients that come to us in deep need. These patients hear that they are valued, cared for, and loved. And by doing so, God is rescuing the lost, healing the broken, and blasting His light into the dark hopelessness that torments many in our community.
